Default Is it just me?

Has anyone noticed that the alliance battles seem to be at Grenz Frontier 70% of the time? IIRC it was in Kurzick lands last Sunday to Tuesday, it was in Luxon lands yesterday, and today it's back in Grenz.

By the way, while I've got this little thread on the alliance battle maps open... what determines when the line is pushed?

Mmmm... not quite. It didn't have anything on what determines when the line moves, and when towns are taken. I know a good bit about ABs (I've written a guide to them on youtube, in fact) but it's the mechanics behind them I don't know.

HFFF/FFF's decide how the line goes, if the line is right infront of the Stairs (a location needed to visit for HFFF/FFF) all the Kurzick faction farmers go mad and start ABing to push the line back, if the line goes further into Kurzick territory they can't be bothered, their safely in HzH, Altriumm, Tanglewood and Amatz anyway.

*Scratches head*

Err... so winning ABs makes it go deeper into the other territory?

That's how it's supposed to work. If the kurzicks win lots of AB, the line goes into luxon territory. The maps, however, start to favour the home side, so the kurzicks start losing the battles and the line moves back into kurzick territory.

Actually, someone told me that it went on a "timer." The line would shift every hour, so that the game would spend an equal amount of time in each map...

So he's wrong? :P

He is. I can't believe you've done all those amounts of ABs without knowing that :P

Well, I've found that neither of them seem to be correct to be truthful...

Every hour its updated.

All the win's scored during that hour are recorded and then the map is changed or retained depending on the scores .

So if its 1: 00 and kurzicks get 54 wins and luxons get 12 wins at saltspray beach

at 2;00 the map updates and the map becomes eteran keys.

But for some reason, The two fortress's never appear anymore.

At the beginning of Ab's life span you would see Ancestral lands and Kanaai canyon more.

>.> Its a bug I think

It was Kaanai on Wednesday around 6-8 PM Eastern... But yeah, we seem to forever be in Grenz and TBH it's kind of annoying =)

the border moves every 3 hours (it SHOULD but if the kurzick dont win, it will go deeper into their land). If you are waiting for a special map (e.g. Salt) you sometimes have to wait up to 15 or 18 hours. Iam a Kurzick but i often have Luxon Guest Invitations, because they win even in ancestral lands...

It's because Kurzicks go FFF on the run, while Luxons AB because they don't know that Luxons too, have a FFF run.

:P

Yep I've noticed this a lot. It seems we're rarely in Luxon territory, mostly Grenz Frontier. And it really bites because of the home advantage thing. At least, it bites if you're a Luxon. And we're hardly in the far deep Jade Sea so I don't even know that map, and hardly know Etnaran Keys. Of course I was Kurzick but then I turned Luxon. hehe

You should know, Luxons who win in Grenz Frontier get bonus faction - called the "underdog bonus".

Well that much I know, I was pretty much overjoyed when it was announced...

But 2 times 100 is still 200, sadly.

Like someone says, it's based on the alliance battle wins in the past 3 hours. It all gets plugged into some formula which determines which outposts get taken over and where the line actually is.

It's not based on one hour's wins maybe three. I have been on non-stop winning teams for five hours and the map moves deeper in instead of going out. It's not just my team but I hear a lot of other teams boasting every time I return from an AB.

The reason that's it's been stuck in grenz frontier so long is because the kurzicks haven't been winning or losing more then the luxons. If both sides are pushing at the same time to pull off a win and push the line back then it could stay in that territory for quite some time (I've been on a few times where it stayed in Grenz for a grand total of 6 hours, it took about 10 mins to get into one battle!!!!! xD)
